One of the most anticipated annual run of shows in Ireland is Damien Dempsey at Christmas in Vicar Street, often described as a truly communal spiritual experience from one of Dublin's greatest ever singer-songwriters. These shows will be more special than ever as Ireland re-opens for live music once again.

The announcement follows the news that the stunning and uplifting part documentary /part concert film Love Yourself Today is being released in cinemas nationwide from November 5th. The film, produced by Ross Killeen, centres around the music of Damo but also turns the lens onto his fans. Every Christmas in Dublin, the crowds gather for Damo’s Christmas gig at Vicar Street. For many, these shows have become a cathartic ritual, a safe space where emotions can be laid bare. Through the prism of the concert, we meet Dempsey and three members of the audience. We hear their stories, unravel their grief and find the light in the darkness through communal art.

Love Yourself Today trailer:

"I don't think I've ever looked forward to a run of shows more excitedly than I'm looking forward to Vicar Street this Christmas, after seeing the incredible movie by Ross Killeen and all his incredible team that features what actually happens deep in the audience in that venue, the incredible magic and healing and empathy, I'm really living for tearing into a singsong to bate all sing songs in that magical space again, after missing it last year especially and what the world has gone through, it's gonna be better than ever !!!!" - Damo

"...this film is beautiful...a joy and inspiration..."

"...a unique portrait about human resilience..."

"i've seen no better film about the social value of art. It's both moving and motivating" BRIAN ENO

"a powerful call for empathy and understanding. 5/5..."
